Museum and Duck

Our trip to the museum and lunch yesterday was nice.  The museum is wonderful, full of rich history, information and exhibits.  It's a new experience for us, having 2 toddlers, to say the least.  2 in diapers.  That alone has proven to be quite a challenge.  But God's grace has been so full.  We are working together as a family, and we are so pleased at how Sterling and Cutter have stepped up to help.

Trinity and Fisher are getting along well.  It is so neat how different they are.  Trinity hasn't been walking but a little over 6 months, so she is always ready to go!  She likes the stroller, but her preference is definitely walking (borderline running) everywhere.  Really the only place we can let her down is in the apartment.  Downstairs at the hotel is flooded with people now that have already come in for the trade show.  Many people are amazed by Trinity with her blonde haired cuteness.  She is fairly safe in her stroller, they usually only come up and touch her and take her picture.  But some are a little more pushy and we have to politely discourage them.  All of them are very kind, and have big smiles for her, but they do not have the personal space boundaries that we do here.  But I guess with so many people, that is just life to them.

Anyway, Fisher on the other hand, LOVES his stroller.  He calls it "Fishers car", and sometimes he will just climb in it while we are still in the room and not even ready to leave yet!  It's hilarious!  He is so much like me it's pitiful.  He doesn't really like mess or things to be out of place.  He will hand Trinity her cup if she puts it down somewhere.  He will look at a book, put it back, and then get out another book.  Trinity looks at a book, then drops it on the floor, then steps on it on her way to get another book.😆

After the museum, we went to eat at a very nice restaurant.  Miko, our guide, explained to us that it is normally very expensive but for lunch, they have a "special price".  I should say!  We had a table FULL of food.  We invited Miko and the driver to eat with us.  The bill was only around $50 USD!  That meal would have been $200 USD in the states.  We had Peking duck, vegetables, eel, pork, beef, rice, goat, and soft drinks.  It was a feast!  Our favorite was the duck.  (Think Christmas Story and you have a mental picture). Greg got a picture but not until after it was carved, so the effect was gone.  When you walked in the restaurant there were tanks of fish.  Some just to look at, and some to choose your meal from.  Of course there were turtles, lobster, fish, and other things, but there were some large worms that were especially appetizing looking 😖 (not).

We came back to the hotel for a rest and then went back out walking and stopped at a Mexican restaurant some friends had recommended.  It was wonderful.  We met another family that was here adopting an 8 year old deaf boy.  They were from Illinois and were with another agency.  Greg talked hunting with the guy for almost an hour.  I'm sure we will see them again.

This morning we have our medical appointment.  We have decided for me to take Fisher, and Greg to stay here with our other children.  They will examine Fisher and give him a TB test, and look at his precious medical records and determine whether or not he can be medically approved for his visa, to leave the country.  I know Fisher has been to the doctor many times before due to his surgery, but please pray that he will take this in stride and not get upset.  Please also pray for me as I feel a little queezy this morning.  I guess the mix of Peking duck and Mexican isn't sitting well.

We are so thankful for each of you and for your support and prayers.  We know those prayers have been a lifeline for us, and have been asking for grace and mercy from our Heavenly Father.  He has been faithful to give to us, more than we deserve.
